Fed Ex as economic bellwether?
Seems pretty reasonable to me. After all, shedding over $12/share in one trading session seems like a pretty fucking serious statement about the overall health of the economy, wouldn't you say? I don't know how reliable a predictor a company like Fed Ex might be, but it stands to reason that a drop in shipments of all types would be a strong indicator of an economy under enormous stress.
When was the last time someone saw a share price drop that much in an 8 hour period? If it is any kind of indicator, and I believe it is, we're in for a very prolonged period of pain. Mark my words, this will stand out as one of the harbingers of worse things to come.
